The Mental Health Action Partnership (MHAP Wisconsin) hosts virtual Learning Sessions to help MHAP partners learn about and discuss issues of shared interest. Anyone who is interested is welcome to attend Learning Sessions, regardless of whether they are otherwise involved in MHAP.

Mental Health Gets My Vote! Tips and Tools for Engaging Candidates

This Learning Session will cover: 

  • Election engagement: Do’s and don’ts for nonprofits and avoiding political activity  

  • Advocacy vs. lobbying 

  • Staying nonpartisan 

  • Working with your employer to identify appropriate roles and allowable activities 

  • Tips & tricks for effective engagement with candidates 

  • Resources for educating candidates about mental health 

This learning session will be led by Richelle Andrae, Associate Director of Government Relations for the Wisconsin Primary Health Care Association (serving Wisconsin’s Community Health Centers), and Dane County Supervisor for District 11 (Madison’s near west side).
